I was using my yaesu ft 897d with an ldg yt 100 and a 11 1v lipo battery both installed internally in the original battery.

Each ni mh battery pack is 13 2 volt 4500 mah and when the radio operates from these packs it has an output power of 20 watts on all amateur bands.
Even 4500 mah is a large capacity ft 897 needs more than 600 ma on.
